Introduction to Ellesmere Port

Ellesmere Port is home to Origin, a cluster of businesses employing over 20,000 people. The site is a hub for new and growing industries which has already attracted multi-million investment.  Essar Energy (EET) is investing in its Stanlow site to make it the UK’s first low carbon process refinery and is creating an energy transition hub at Thornton Science Park.  Nearby Protos Energy Park is home to waste-to-energy and recycling businesses. 

Ellesmere Port has a large retail sector with the Cheshire Oaks shopping park, a flagship Marks and Spencer store and a B&M imports warehouse. 

New town centre developments funded by UK Government will bring a new market hall and improved active travel, along with new housing developments.
